At West Maui Chocolatier, we create artisan chocolates inspired by the beauty and flavors of Maui. Every piece is handcrafted in small batches using the finest ingredients - from locally sourced tropical fruits to premium Belgium and French chocolates.
Our founder, Tomoko Nohina, brings her passion for culinary artistry and a deep appreciation for island culture into every creation. With roots in both Japan and Hawai'i, her confections are a fusion of delicate technique and bold island flavors, offering a one-of-a-kind chocolate experience.

Meet The Chocolatier
TOMOKO NOHINA - FOUNDER & CHOCOLATE MAKER
Originally from Japan, I've spent over 20 years working in pastry kitchen across Japan, San Diego, and now my home - Maui. My journey in pastry began humbly, learning through hands-on experience alongside talented chéfs and colleagues who generously shared their knowledge and inspired me to grow.
When I moved to Maui, I felt deeply connected to the island and made a promise to root myself here, support local, and bring something sweet and special to the community.
Chocolate has always been my passion (yes, I'm a helpless chocoholic), and I wanted to deepen my skills. I began self-teaching by spending countless hours studying techniques. To truly refine my craft, I enrolled in the Pastry Academy by Amaury Guichon in Las Vegas in September, 2024. The experience was life changing. I learned from some of the best, met amazing people, and stepped into a new stage of my career as a chocolatier.
When I returned to Maui, I immediately launched my own chocolate business. Every piece I create is made with love, inspired by the island, and crafted with care to bring joy, comfort, and a bit of indulgence to your day.
When I'm not in the kitchen creating new chocolate flavors, you'll find me catching the waves of Maui.
